Well after 40 years of service my Allis Chalmers B-110 finally gave up. It broke a drive axle tube and the rest of the tractor is tired enough that I decided to retire it and buy something new. I'll restore it later.
After much shopping and research on the web, much of it on this forum and looking at JD, Kabota, Branson, NH, Cub Cadet, and a few others, I decided on a left over new 2007 Cub Cadet 5254 at a local dealer. It has the front weight hanger, cruise control, turf tires and a 60" MMM. I got it for $8500.00 out the door. I have 12 hrs on it now and only time will tell if it was the right choice. I would not want anything bigger to mow the lawn.
I have seen serveral posts about the MMM taking 20 to 40 min to take off or put on, I took 6 min to remove and 8 min to install. I suspect some people may be having to many adult beverages between pin removals
. I will conceed the rear mount mower would be easier but the MMM is better for my needs. I may opt for the kit to lock the deck up so I don't have to remove it for some other simpler chores. I made a trailer hitch for the 3 point. It is nice to back up to many things and just lift and pull.
Thanks to all that posted and helped me make my choice.
