Kioti DK45SE HST, 401FEL, RB40-96 pivoting Rear Blade
Hey Folks,

Well the day has finally come. I went and fetched the new DK40SE HST home today. it's a 2008 year model. Had some excitement when I was backing it off of the trailer. I was parked on a slight incline (that lead to a more steep incline) and as the rear wheels approached the edge of the trailer it lifted the back wheels of my pickup off of the ground so of coarse everything was sliding down the incline towards the house.. My 12yo son saved the day by jumping into the pickup and stepping on the brake pedal so the front wheels of the pickup stoped the procession.. thank goodness!! Guess wheel chocks are in order next time! I'll attach some pic's at the end of this post.

One quick question, I got the pivoting rear blade, and I would like to put a hydraulic cylinder where the turnbuckle is to allow me to offset the blade with the rear hydraulic. Anyone have any recommendations as to lengh and throw for the ram? Cripes I don't recall the model number of the Rear blade at the moment..I'll post that tomorrow.

Welcome to the pack.
That is one beautiful machine :)
Can't help with the blade cylinder. Mine is the old manual type (get off and change the angle).
Enjoy the new toy.

Just measure the current manual one. Measure the fully collapsed manual link ,screw it out all the way and measure length again. Find a cylinder slightly shorter or same length collapsed, I would choose shorter as it will give a little cushion if you strike something!

Good luck

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the reply's. I measured and orderd a cylinder from Northerntool.. 22" when closed, only cost about $80.00 I thought that was pretty reasonable.

I'm going to go on "round 3" of Me vs the road... have tuesday off so i'm sure my neighbors will be happy to see I'm not done with it YET (only been 2 days so far).. heheh God help me!

Carry on,
Phill

Keep in mind that with that 22" hydraulic, you will only be able to offset in one direction. That usually works out fine, but if you will need to offset to the other side, you will need to move the cylinder to the other side. The setup on your blade does not allow for offset in both directions without moving the ratchet, or soon to be hydraulic, to the opposite side.

BTW, your rig sure looks nice, maybe experiment with the draft control when grading your road, see if it helps you. ;)

Good luck
