Here is another way to decide what to buy and what may best fit your needs. Get a pro logger, forestry consultant, someone who can access your land for harvesting/clearing purposes and what you might yield from doing so in different ways: dozer,(hired), tractor( sweat equity), etc. out to your place and ask them what they would do in your situation. A Dk-65 is a big tractor for a novice - that is something to consider among other factors. Not that a Dk 55 is a small tractor- it isn't.
There are people who can help you locally- where are you located anyway?
It will be an opinion that is not biased toward a particular machine, rather their advice should be grounded in what works best for your particular situation. Try your county Ag office for recommendations. Don't rush your purchase- it's going to be with you for a LONG time!
Also Kioti's bumper to bumper warranty is something I would be seriously weighing in the decision process. Used doesn't carry one, (for many items), new covers everything for 4 years.

i have a nice 2007 kioti dk55 with 551 loader for sale, 251 hours. 19000 bucks. the dk55 is plenty of tractor, good working weight, handles hills very well. i never stalled it, used a 6 ft brush hog with it, handled it very nicely. the 551 loader is very tough and strong. i seen mine sitting beside a dk65 when i was looking and there is a big size difference. i picked the dk55 for that reason, you can get to much tractor for what you are doing. i think the dk55 is plenty of tractor for most jobs, and the rollbar will fold down for getting under limbs. you can get either the category one or two lift arm ends, mine came with category two so i got some 2 dollar bushings made to convert category one impliments to fit category two tractors. its a horse in its own right.

this has been sold. a guy is picking it up thursday. i had desided that it was'nt going to sell and i was going to just keep it, told my dealer who's lot it was on to just bring it back home and i'd drive it around the yard occationally. the day he was going to bring it home a guy stopped in and bought it. glad its sold but feel a little bit of regret.

I have a cabbed DK65 as well as a few other tractors. The DK never has felt like too much tractor. In fact, for doing small simple tasks, it gets amazing economy, then when you need the power for pulling a big baler or bushhog, it's got it. My wife will drive it, but prefers the slightly smaller Montana 5740. In my opinion, every farm needs a tractor sized about like a Ford 5000, and the DK65 is a modern substitute for that. My Ford 5000 will always stay with us, but having Kioti's features like 12 speed, 2sp PTO, 4wd, quick links, etc, have spoiled us. The factory loader has been amazing. I have deformed quick attach implements without ever putting the slightest bend in the loader arms moving and knocking down trees. It's my first cab tractor, and I'm now a big fan of them. Don't forget that oversizing a little on the tractor can come in real handy when you're cutting damp grass, pulling plows in hard ground, and many more tasks that aren't always easy.

Tractors seem to cost somewhere around $400 per horsepower, plus options, so I would recommend budgeting for at least 10 more hp than you think you'll need. But, some amazing things can be done in lower gears by small 4wd tractors that have filled rear tires. But I'd trade up to a bigger one if I could for only $400/hp!

thank you flhayman, we had a small hit to our finances in the last couple weeks, so I am holding off for a few months until it straightens out. That being said, if the 65 is still available, it will be ours! thank you all for the information, i enjoy reading on this forum
