In case you have heard about the life-time warranty for the original owner, on many of the Dodge vehicles including trucks, may be a winner for some. Except for the fact its doesn"t cover diesels. If a gas engine suits you, its worth looking into .

I've been seeing that on TV and my question is??
Who's lifetime, ours or the vehicle and what don't it cover?

Do you have to have all maintenance work done by them??
Even if not, we've all seen the stories about dealers and corporate "getting out of it"
You better have some very good documentation towards the end.

It doesn't appear to have any "gotchas". You do have to get the vehicle inspected every 5 years, but it's stated to be a free inspection at any Chrysler family dealership.

I actually was test-driving a Durango last night, and the salesman (who I know and have bought from before) told be bluntly that Chrysler is banking on the fact that people who buy new generally switch vehicles after just a couple years and the warranty isn't transferable. If you're the exception who keeps a new vehicle forever, it sounds like an excellent deal.

Does the warranty cover upgrades you do to the vehicle? I am talking about installing chips and lift kits and such. I'm curious if it will still cover the routine maintenance of the vehicle. Just Curious.

Any modifications such as chips and suspension modifications generally void warranties.

I contacted Banks sometime ago and asked that same question. They replied it will not void your warranty. I also contacted my Ford service dept. and they would not commit to how Ford would react. I certainly would like to hear from anyone that has challenged this. Personally, I was afraid to test it.
