I like your JD- looks good in it's working clothes! Mine was made in May of '62, and has the original K161 7hp. Actually, when CC went to the Model 70 in '64, they went to a full length frame. The old style were prone to crack right where it bolts on. I have a Model 70 as well, which I'm slowly restoring and customizing. The only changes I'm making are bolt-on, so it can always be returned to stock condition, although I started with a pretty rough tractor, so it's not really very collectible. Other than the gear ratios, the transaxle on the Cadet is the same as IH used on the Farmall Cub, which is why they last forever, and are so popular on the pulling circuit.

Dad bought a new Model 100 in the summer of '65. That was one tough little tractor. Had a lot of implements, 42" mower, plow, disc and cultivator. The dealer delivered it on a 4x8 tiltbed International trailer. I still have the trailer, wish I had the Cub.
