What is the skinny on the new, bigger than 30 hp Farm Pros? I have a 25 hp now and would love to get one a little larger. Maybe 40 or 55. They seem like a heck of a deal. Especially the 80 hp with the Perkins motor and cab. Who makes them and the motors for all the sizes? Maybe this has been covered and I wasn't paying attention. But I just realized Farm Pro has a whole new tractor line out there. Are they sold by dealers only or at the tool show too? Sorry for all the questions at once. While I am at it, how much is my 25 hp 4X4 with the zl-20 loader and 120 hrs worth? And is there a market for used ones?

The new larger Farmpro tractors are made by Foton,as far as I know they are only sold thru dealers and they are having a hard time getting them,I know Chip has been waiting a while,we have sold every used Jinma we get in I would guess your is worth 4,000-4,500.00,depending on condition, paint, ect.

I have two 70HP on order and am told they will be ready soon... I will post a review after I get one in. I don't see them hauling these guys to the road shows, in fact they are special order only, by that I mean Homier does not stock them, they bring them in against dealer orders only. Same with the 40HP witch is Foton also (not sure whose engine is in that one) I will share when I know more...
We too have had little trouble selling the used Jinmas when they come around, although we don't see many...

vavtx,
I just purchased the new 80 hp. with a Koyker 310 loader on it. It is a great purchase so far, I can work in all conditions day or night, snow or heat! Homier is the distributor, and as stated above by others, it is a Foton. Dealer said that as they sell one, they can order another, seems to be the way it works I guess!

If you don't mind me asking... where at, how much and do they have any smaller ones like 40 or 55hp? How is the finished product? I know nothing about Foton. Are they comparable to Jinma quality or lack there of?

legacyautos.com, they are a distributor for Colorado and Wyoming, so I travelled down there, I paid 25 out the door. They do have smaller ones, BUT none that I saw with a cab. The product is actually nicely done, a few blemishes here and there, but pretty quality none the less. I believe that they are comparible to the Jinmas, not too sure, but I believe they are, maybe ask bluechip, he has seen both up close I believe! Any other questions, I would be glad to answer!

There is a Farm Pro 40HP open ROPS tractor mfg by Foton. a 55HP made by Benye (not real common) and the 70 and 80 Cab tractors by Foton. Since we import KAMA, I do not stock the Farm Pro 55, the KAMA is so much less money.

In general, fit and finish is a little better on the Fotons. A couple years ago they were making some good gains into the market but they made the error of imitating a popular blue tractor in appearance and got in legal trouble. so many (all?) importers, dealers and distributors ran away from them. at that time. Some people thought they were prohibited from importing to US all together, but after reading the ruling, it seems they are not allowed to sell tractors that violate the trade dress, so it seems to me it may be only the blue fotons with the fiberglass hood that are illegal in USA. For the last year it is next to impossilbe to import a Chinese tractor if it is blue and Customs is aware of it being blue...

This explains the limited market penetration of Futian/Foton tractors to date.

Are parts available for them? Are they as plentiful as a Jinma?

I'm sure parts will be as available as over 40HP Jinmas, not a lot of those in the states either. We are still building our inventory of KAMA parts. I am told that Homier will stock parts for thier Farm Pro Fotons.

I just purchased a Tractor King 404 (40 hp 4wd) from Rual King ..It is the spitting image of Massey`s lower end 40 hp 4wd....paint is red/silver instead of Massey`s red/black...maybe Folton makes Masseys too???? Price was right...$ 7999.90...add $ 3500.00 for a koyker 160 loader...Hummmmmmmmm thinking about going down to my HI dealer and getting a set of Massey decals...Would that be copy write infrigement??? Any how this tractor is a power house...built like a battle ship...fit and finish was good to fair...after a couple of hours of working and a wax job it`s looking much better... Oh and i believe the engine is a Perkins 3 cyl diesle licenced and made in China...Sid
