I just purchased a new Ferris and love it. I tried out a Hustler Fastrak 21/54 and a Country Clipper 21/54 while looking at the Ferris. Hustler has a great warranty at 4 years for personal residential and the others just have 2 years. The Hustler dealer that is closest is a tool rental place and is trying to sell out of the Hustlers so I was more concerned about dealer help. The Ferris dealer I have known since I was a little kid so I know he will treat me right. My uncle runs his own lawn care business and has run a lot of different machines. He also talked me in to buying the Ferris since one of the cemeteries that he mows has one. He looked at the Hustler and thought the Ferris was better built. One major thing that I noticed was the Ferris had greasable bearings where the Hustler had sealed bearings. My only reserve on the Ferris is the 26hp B & S ELS. Haven't seen much good or bad on these yet. Everyone seems to love the Kawasakis. Anyone here had a Ferris siimilar to this size for a while? Curious on what you think. I hope this will last for a while. I just retired a couple mid 80's Grasshoppers w/ 44" decks so this feels quite a bit bigger. 2-3 acres seem to get mowed out pretty quick.
