New Ford Bronco

We like the "looks and utility" of the new Bronco's but maybe not the price. Have not seriously been looking anyway. Nonetheless, we have been happy with our 2019 ranger. When our Element goes, we will be looking at broncos.

Let’s keep it on topic of the Ford Bronco. We already have a Ranger topic going.

I have a Ford F250 diesel so not hating on Ford but the Bronco is the most absurd vehicle for the price.
The majority of people buying these vehicles are not going off-road. Given the doors and top comes off there is more road noise inside the cabin.
Just don't see the appeal.

Where we reside, all we will puchase is a awd or 4wd vehicles.

I'm not debating the usefulness of the 4wd just the cost vs usefulness of the Bronco.
And to top that off there are already issues with the 2.7L V6 engine.
For the price of a new Bronco I would rather have a top of the line F series diesel truck.

Why? The Bronco sits on top of the Ranger Chassis. Built in the same plant. Every bit apart of the Bronco story.

So there is a lot of Whys, Were If Onlys on this thread. A lot of comparisons to 20 year old Toyotas, as if Toyota is the Top Stage compared to my 1980 F250. Lets keep those out of the Bronco Conversation!

The Bronco was well thought out, and totally molded to compete against 1 vehicle. The Bronco Sport was just along for the ride, mimicking the 2008-20012 Escape's square body lines more than an Off Road vehicle.

The Bronco doesn't need the Coyote V8, sheeet it can get the 3.0L Ecoboost which is way more potent than a NA Coyote is anyway. The V6's don't need a standard Tranny either. Standards as much as people love them, are less than 10% market share. The Hemi Wrangler is just Stallantis's kick at fighting a Better Product in a Class they had all to themselves for too long. Try to find a Hemi Wrangler on a Dealer's Lot near you. CAFE makes them near impossible to get.

The Gladiator is another, kick at the upcoming Bronco, which has some benefits, but wasn't a great seller back when Jeeps had only 2 doors and the Scrambler tried the same idea. The Scrambler was 1.9% of total Jeep Sales back in the AMC Days

Chrysler has weakened the Jeep name for many years. Considering, it was probably their best Investment ever, when they Bought Out AMC who owned Jeep. They didn't keep any of their Car products long!

I wouldn't have anything but 4wd, but Canada's Winters provide that need. Yes, I do agree that a Pick Up is far more useful than a Bronco or Jeep. The original Bronco was always prices similar but higher to a Pick Up. I think a 1966 Roadster 4x2 was $2400, a 1965 F100 2wd was $1900, but sat up to 5 people, no trucks other than HD Work Trucks could do that at the time.

I like the Bronco look but with the numerous quality issues, there will not be one in my garage. When you can't even make a durable soft/hard top for it, they should have at least contracted Bestop to be a supplier.

Agreed on the GM "Government Motors", as for Ford or any supplier, the customer dictates the cost.
Smart customers try, but way to many customers that don,t understand how math works, plus having the gotta have it right now, at any cost mentality, kinda makes it difficult for the few smart consumers to drive change in cost.

We have really liked our 2019 ranger so much so, we'll look at the bronco as our next auto. The 2017 taco we traded in on it, had many quality issues.

Personally I prefer a standard transmission , My Tacoma is a 5 spd and with the hi/lo range that gives me 10 different gear speeds , I like using a standard/clutch for backing a trailer in a tight place I use the low range and I can control the movement/speed of the truck better than when I am using a auto tranny.
If you have a weak battery you can park your vehicle on slope and when you need to start it you can let the truck coast off of the steep grade with the ignition switch on let the clutch out while the vehicle is moving and start the vehicle , pretty nice if you have no jumper cables.
If you have a standard and your are having problems getting it to start instead of grinding on the starter and running the battery down you can get someone in another vehicle and tow you with the standard in gear and ingnition switch on and clutch out while pulling the vehicle best starter ever which you cannot do if you have an automatic tranny.
I know standards are almost impossible to find 10% market share but then again there are only about 10% of the people that drive like I do..
There are lots of people who have never driven a standard or know how to , they don't know what they are missing , they would not get to drive the tractor when picking up hay in the hayfield and thats another good reason to know how to drive a standard..😂
I grew up with standards and got one in our 17 tacoma. Ranger doesn't have one which is fine by me. The ranger does downshift on hills when trailer mode is on.

The electronic auto has some nice features for sure there are lots of pros about them . They have come a long in the developement reliability and capabilities of the automatics , no denying that.
BTW: The Rangers are nice looking trucks.
We tow trailers weekly and backing up to them with a manual tranny bits! :ROFLMAO:
