Cummins is getting into European sized Diesel engines with the new ISF series. The ISF consists fo 2.8 and 3.8 liter four cylinder engines, which they say is based on the B family of engines. They say that most probably to create trustworthyness: as the new engine is only half the weight of the B series, it wouldnt have too much in common, and its built by Foton of Beijing, China.
The smallest version of this engine comes in light and medium duty versions. At this moment they are primarily aimed at the Chinese market, however the fact that they were also presented at the IAA in Germany, means that they want to keep all opportunities open to sell it in the rest of the world too, if the market may ask for it.
