Hello everyone. This is my first time on this forum. I live in Brooksville, FL, but am in the process of moving to 12 acres we bought near Tuscaloosa, AL (West Blocton, AL). I'm more of an antique/older tractor guy--I have a 1949 Ford 8N and a 1951 8N. For my next addition I want either a John Deere 720, an air cooled Deutz diesel, or a mid HP David Brown.
Both of my grandfathers bought 1949 8Ns in 1949, both were Missouri farmers, and both bought them to replace a team of horses in the field. My uncle still uses one of the on his farm in Oklahoma. Grandpa always told me horses were stupid. I never understood until a few years ago when my uncle explained that he and horses never saw eye to eye. He said the best day horses ever had was the day grandpa brought the 8N home.
