Hi guys!

Looking at buying a compact tractor to help maintain the property and finish many large projects I have planned. I've priced out brand new Kubota's, New Hollands, and John Deere's and narrowed it down to Kubota or New Holland.

Looking in the 40hp+ range so finding a used one in good shape with lower hrs for a fair price is pretty none existent so I have been thinking of just spending the extra money for new.

Two tractors I am looking at is the New Holland Boomer 40 and Kubota MX5100. Not sure if going to go with gear or hydro drive yet but both will have loaded rear tires, R4 tires, 72" quick disconnect bucket.

Attachments I am looking at getting are:

66" Root grapple
48" pallet forks (3000lb)
Backhoe

Finish mower and brushhog will be purchased used


Currently more set on the New Holland because of price being cheaper and everyone that I have talked to has had no issues with theirs at all and have nothing but positive things to say.

For those that own one what are some options and attachments you wish you would have purchased and tractor size as well. Any forums for websites to look at for used tractors for a reasonable price?

Welcome neighbor I'm in Fenton.

Both are good tractors I'm a kubota fan however i dislike the gear Trans mx5100 because its not a shuttle shift on the column. I'm not sure if any of the gears on the mainshift are synchronized. I would find this a major inconvenience. I test drove one before buying an m8540.

I know a guy who just bought a mx5100 hst and is really happy with it.

Looks like you've done some research on implements.

Have you been up to flint new Holland, Kubota talking to Jim or Joe. Their prices were some of the best i could find on kubotas in the area. Rosy brothers in dryden is excellent too larger selection of orange. I bought the tractor at rosy bros because flint does not usually stock the larger m's but have a good selection of smaller tractors. The quotes were within $200 of each other.

I actually have been talking with Jim from flint new holland and hes great to work with. I liked the mx5100hst with the rocker pedal for forward and back but disliked the seat comfort and location of lever for loader. The NH was more comfortable for me in the seat and the visability was much better. Plus the 72 @ 0% financing is a nice offer that was hard to say no to. Also will be picking up a 84" land pride finish mower that they have had sitting on there lot for sometime.

Just need to save up a couple dollars to purchase a grapple

Cool they are an excellent dealer i bought my splitter and tooth bar from them. You need to be comfortable on what ever you buy. Enjoy your new toy. Wish i had a grapple too
