I found this place while looking for information on a blown circuit board on the diesel generator that powers my camp. Of course I just sold the Honda 3000e cuz who needs more than one generator. Finding the part ( a resistor) is hard because the genie doesn稚 have a manufacturers plate w. Serial #., it痴 most likely Chinese and all I really need is the value of the resistor. The current one is obliterated so the colour bands are gone. Anyway.....I bought 45 acres just outside Huntsville Ontario with a plan to build a big B&B and cut bike and walking trails. I bought an old Cat L977 track loader and it痴 amazing what it can do, including getting stuck in mud.

Back to the generator,,based on some comments in this place I致e now moved my search to Onan Cummins with a 3 cyl Kubota diesel. Looking at a 12 KW that痴 for sale in Toronto for a decent price. What surprises me is how small it is ( 42lx21w) and quiet too 70db at 10ft under load.

Is that the Quiet diesel you are talking about? It's a current project of mine. I have several Onan Diesel sets. Kind of a hobby.

Any way I can help with your resistor? If I can't figure out how to get stuff in this becoming a third world country (Canada) you probably can't get it.

That’s quite the selection of equipment you have. Anyway the blown circuit is on the no-name 5000S genset. The Onan Cummins is on my want to have wish list. If I can come up with the electrical values of the resistor I can most likely get it from Sayal Electronics, the parts place. They have a big store in Burlington where I used to live.

Drove by that store yesterday! Was wondering if there was anything I needed.

Sometimes the Onan Rotor or Stator get fried from being in a small place or maxed out for load, and the engines are still good. I know a great guy that rewinds them. Had my Onan 7.5 and a small Yanmar done by him.

Get ready to pay through the nose for anything Onan. My biggest beef is that they are making them compact, and the rad is no longer out in front of the fan and engine. I am still convtering a 12.5 KW Onan/Isuzu (One sweet Running Motor) to a more conventional set, but it is something I won't be doing again!
