Hello all,

First post. I have grown up with and used small to medium sized tractors since early on in life, but lately I have been looking to purchase my first ever tractor of my own.
I live on 2.5 acres so I've been researching in the 26-33 hp range with FEL. Been looking mostly at Mahindras. This is because there's a close dealership and I live in the greater Houston area which is a major Mahindra hub, so I hear.
Kubota is a close second as there is a dealership even closer than the Mahindra dealer, but the Kubotas are a little more pricey, and honestly, I just like the red Mahindra look over the Kubs.

Will be posting again soon asking about the Mahindra HST's 1526 vs Max 26xl. But still considering the 1533 or the Kub 2650 and 3350. Just trying to decide if I need to go to compact size or if a sub-compact will be enough for my needs.

Thanks in advance for all the information gathered from this site thus far as well as the information yet to come.

Thanks for the warm welcomes everyone.

WELCOME TO T-B-N.

Look at the Kubota L2501/HST. Minimal emission controls, large displacement, low stressed engine and perfect size and weight for two to five acres. (Same chassis and engine block as L3350.)

Thanks jeff
I have narrowed down that a Mahindra 1526 is unecessary for me. So the Max 26xl won out in the red brand.

Looking into the B2601 vs B2650. What's the selling point of the L2501 over the B2650? I think the 2650 has the smaller frame of those two. Not to say that smaller is better, but I've made my newest list of three and the B2650 is the largest on the list being the B2601 vs Max 26xl vs B2650.

I think the L2501 will be the right power rating but a little cumbersome up close to fences, sidewalks and around the gardens close to my house. I requested a quote regardless.

Does anyone know, and this would be a deal sealer, are the 3 cylinder 25 and 26 hp Kubota engines direct injection? Would pick a direct fuel injection engine over an indirect fuel injection engine any day.

If you open the Kubota LINK in Post #2, then select SPECS, you will read:

L2501: DIRECT INJECTION, VERTICAL, WATER-COOLED 4-CYCLE DIESEL.
