hi everyone, i've been lurking on your forums for a couple of months now as i looked for my first compact tractor which i picked up yesterday. i currently live in the eastern panhandle of west virginia, but lived most my life in state college, PA and still frequent there often.
we have 5 acres to manage and about 3 of it is mowing and we have a stone lane to take care of. also plan on using my new tractor for the many landscaping projects including some land leveling and such. our house isn't old, but the first owner did absolutely nothing but mow the grass and live here. our yard was never top soiled when the house was built so, the yard is very uneven and rocks all through it. what wasn't messed up by the house being built is old pasture so no tress or grass for that matter. either way, our tractor is going to have its work cut out for it at least for the first year.
the tractor we just bought was a 2003 Kubota B7500HSD. got a good deal on it and that's what made us buy it. has a loader and 60" MMM, 4WD and PS. we also have a Cub SGT 2082 that we are going to keep and use to mow in tandem with our Kubota to cut even more time off mowing. I was sold on the Mahindra's but didn't want to spend the money on a new one. funny thing was the Kubota we just bought was a trade in at a Mahindra dealer that i asked if he had anything used. price seemed really good and figured if it turned out to be too small, i could always sell it for what i have in it and go bigger without a loss. anyway, i'm a bit of a rambler and could go all day, but i just wanted to thank you guys for a great forum and all the knowledge passed on.
