Hello, one of my front wheels on my 770 just won't hold air. After I bought the tractor I had new R1s put on the fronts. Tire shop had a hard time getting one of them to seal up because of a previous weld repair on the inside lip of the rim. It's still not holding. Any idea what part # is for a 770 front rim? Cost? Anyone have an extra that you want to sell?

Also thinking about putting a toolbox on my 770. If anyone's done that I'd be interested to see where you mounted it.

I guess your best bet is to try a salvage yard for the rim.
I can't recall if the 770 wheels are the same as the 790's, but that's worth checking out on JD Parts. If they use the same wheels, that would expand your sources considerably.

As far as a toolbox...the neatest one I've ever seen (on a 790) was mounted on a crossbar clamped to the vertical section of the ROPS (where they angle in to the tractor frame). This was a neat location for a good sized toolbox. I have a picture of it, but I'll have to find it (it's not on this laptop I'm using).
The only downsides to this location was having to move the SMV placard and it appeared one had to be off the seat to access the toolbox (opened from the rear).

Nick,

My next project for my JD770 is to mount a small toolbox somewhere. I am thinking of using an ammo can that I'll paint JD green and somehow mount on the left side of the ROPS without drilling into it. I'll post some pictures when I get it all figured out.

Any success on finding a front rim?

Bruce

Here are some pictures of the tool box on my JD770 (including one picture with Tractor Pilot Jr.!)

This is the best location I could find for a tool box/ammo can of this size. It doesn't block the yellow warning light; is accessible from the seat; and doesn't stick out past the rear tire.

Here's the pic of thr 790 tool box mount.
Sorry it took so long...I'd forgotten about the thread.

I just mounted an ammo box on the right side fender on my 790. Here's the thread I started to show how I did it. The only drawback to doing it this way is that the box will virtually block all view of the right side flasher from the front of the tractor. Just another option you might want to consider....
