Took delivery of my Frontier snow blower today during 55f temperatures here in Colorado. I sprung for the hydraulic chute rotation but presently have only one hyd port at the rear so I am waiting anxiously for my electric selector valve to come in from Surplus Center at the suggestion of KennyD. I had to cut a large chunk out of the pto driveshaft to get the driveline to fit. A fairly good workout with the hacksaw tonight!

Am looking forward to some snow. It has been extremely warm and dry here so far since I ordered this thing.

Yes, it has been a pretty wimpy winter so far except for the Front Range. The mtns. and ski areas have had some great snow but the rest of us are left with nothin. I am sure it will change one of these days!

Will let you know if it ever snows here in CO! Does anyone have a similar Frontier snow blower with
The skid shoes? I am interested in how they do on a paved driveway. I wonder if people rest the blower skidshoes on the ground or just let it float slightly above the ground. I am sure experience will be the
best teacher but a little advice sure doesn't hurt either!

from my experience, IF the ground is frozen and you have a coating of snow and ice......then I like to let it ride on the skid shoes (with a proper adjustment to keep the lead edge just off the ground).

If you don't have a good base of snow to rest your skids....then I use care to not pull up stones and gravel or damage paved surfaces. (Which also can be hard on shear bolts and parts.)

Kinda a judgment call based on your base. ;)

Did have to replace the battery after 3 years or so. Put the tender on most of my machines and no
trouble since. Probably overkill but I figure it is cheap insurance.

Foggy, thanks for the info. Makes sense to me. I have a paved drive but the neighbors is
recycled asphalt. Hopefully your guidance will keep my drive from having divots and my
neighbors house spared from needing a siding job from flying gravel!

Thanks,
Mike
