I think I will be. I'm an optimist. I just hate the disruption to my normal life. Go to work, get paid, do projects, have fun. That's my normal routine. I quit work at the end of hte day when i'm done what i'm working on.

However, looking for jobs, applying for jobs, i have no "end time" because i haven't found a job yet. So i'll research, look for jobs, apply, basically from noon until night. I don't have a natural quitting time, so it's extremely easy to go over. And sometimes when i'm in process of something, i'll keep going, even after i should have stopped. My sleep schedule is beyond broken, some days i am up until 5-6am because it's quiet and i can concentrate/focus on the job.

My industry is heavy in AI and i'm in the data engineering industry at director/vp level, so we're directly affected. That means i need to be an expert on all things ai, how it applies, and how it integrates into work. How my engineers will use it, and things that it is not applicable for. Data governance has become a huge topic and i spent the last 2 years before the layoff's orchestrating AI into our systems. But the layoff's were not AI driven, it was my whole business unit that got shut down.

Look into the school districts near you. The education industry has been wrestling with AI a lot. Either look I to the IT or director level or dip into teaching. High school, community college and local universities.

Can also look into Agriculture. AI and autonomous tractors, spraying, drone work is on the horizon and approaching fast.

I haven't looked into education, but I have looked at AG. The AG band is really narrow, and the options are pretty limited. If you know something, though, i'd love to hear it!

I bought 4 shelves from temu. They were really cheap, about $25 each. They aren't very good and were a nightmare to put together, so after the first 2, i had my children put hte second two together.

I won't be storing my anvil collection on them, but they should be good enough for tools.

The wall between my mothers house and garage was built by me and my father about 30 years ago. We used landscape timbers and even built an island in the turn around area. It was a great project.

30 years later, it's falling apart. The timbers are rotting. My mother wanted it replaced. So I went out and priced some new landscape timbers and that just wasn't happening. And my mother wanted to get rid of hte old pond. and have that filled in.

So I got the idea of building a stone wall instead of the wood one. And I could use the rocks from the pond. This has ended up being a larger job than I thought it would be. Next level tetris.

I have landscape fabric around it, 2a stone to fill, and setting the stones in concrete. But finding hte right stones has been a challenge.
