new gas tank for oliver 1650

hey all, i'm getting my ma in laws oliver 1650 going again. its been sitting in a shed for 10+ years. we drained the tank (of course, there was close to a full tank in it

) and i've rebuilt the carb.

we'd love to replace the tank. do they make plastic ones? where can i find a new tank?

hoping its easy to take out. the top cover has to come off, and the muffler is tack welded to the manifold and will make it impossible to lift the cover very high. it wont fit over the diameter of the muffler.

cant wait to see this baby run. its a big tractor compared to what i'm used to. the end loader on it is huge!!!

also, i planned on changing out the guts of the distributor with one of these new electronic trigger jobbies....i forget who makes it. but the base plate is too big for the distributor housing. has anyone done this?

That tractor hasn't been built since 1968 or 1969, but folks do collect and restore them.
You'll probably have better luck asking this question in the Vintage Tractor forum...

wt, go to ytmag.com. There is a forum for Olivers as well as other brands. Tons of help there. You can probably do a search once you get there and find your answers. They talk about the distributor updates now and then. Tank shouldn't be a problem either.
