Looks good. I picked one up in February and have been impressed.

Your gear oil is going to feed the fire to the debate on gear vs hydro fluid in the front end.

Haha - regarding the fluid debate - i know! I might as well add the fact that I am in Maine so cold climate!

That set-up works well in NH…. congratulations- you'll love it! That thumb on the BH is great for holding (and moving) logs up to cut with a chainsaw. (Just be sure to use stabilizers with a heavy log- that BH is strong enough to tip the whole tractor over!) The blower is awesome.

I'm still on the fence if I should use the PermaTran in the front axle or if I should use a synthetic gear oil. My understanding is in cold country like Wisconsin . . That regular gear oil thickens more than permaTran but thevsynthetic gear oil maintains better cold temp pourability.

Some present some pretty good reasons for the gear oil. While Massey manual says Permatran.

I also waffled back and forth on using a synthetic hydro fluid like Kubota offers instead of Permatran . . . Again because of winter issues.

Sometimes its not easy figuring out the difference between "acceptable" and "more beneficial" lol.

I don't think due to the top speed of our tractors that they really mind if the oil is a little thicker in cold weather.

Fxdb96, good luck with the new rig. I'm considering the same model. Are you putting a mower on that?

If you don't have to do anything but normal maintenance on that, you got an excellent deal on that MMM!
