Rest in Peace
Well, we now officially have a new granddaughter. If anyone didn't already know it, as "foster parents" our younger daughter and her husband have had a little girl, Jennifer, for a little more than 15 months now. She'll be 9 years old on August 4. But they wanted to make it permanent instead of "fostering". And today was the final trip to the Tarrant County Family Law Courthouse to finalize the official adoption.
Of course, daughter & son-in-law invited some friends and family to join them at the court this morning. I think there were 67 of us there. The judge was a very nice lady herself; said cameras were welcome, and she invited all the family to come up around her on the bench and the rest of the friends to gather in front of the bench for photos. She said it was biggest crowd she'd ever had for an adoption.
And Jennifer is a lovely young lady that's a fine addition to our family.
