Can you post a pic of the grapples closed with nothing in them? I am curious how far down the arms go.

Will do, they go down to the same plane as the bucket bottom, but, are forward a bit, due to the teeth on the bucket. If you layed a 2x4 along the bucket teeth, it would clamp it.

I'll grab a pic and post it a bit later.

Wow... Sure looks nice!!! One note is the way you are pinning the hydraulics to the bucket with the key (man, I do not know what the name of that is). I replaced all the cotter pins on my brush bucket with that kind of clip so I could easily attach and detach.. That was a bad idea. Sucks looking for the rod that holds the hydraulics to the arm. I constantly had them pulled out by offending brush. I am now back to straight cotter pins (1/4" X 3")

Those are the clips that came with the cylinder, so I used them. On other equipment I have been known to tie-wrap the ends, just for a bit of security.
So far, so good, no hint of them being pulled off, they are pretty tight to install. We shall see.
