New Gravely owner on site with mowing deck question

/ New Gravely owner on site with mowing deck question #11
Worked one summer in college mowing city parks behind the rotary mounted on a tractor that did the big spaces and ball fields. We had two gravely with dual wheels and sulkies and two guys with mowers and clippers to clean up around the trees, one place the big tractor couldn't go. Any quick rise in the turf had to be taken head on as any angle brought the handlebar over top your thigh just as the front mounted mower tipped the handlebar down with a lot of force. You learned real quick to not do that!

The two gravely guys always took off in opposite directions, each working 1/2 of the parks trailed by the trimmer. This way the beer and soda cans hidden in the grass were not flying at the other two. Cans leave as jagged projectiles traveling at high speed.

Steep banks needed to be walked so you just dropped the sulky and came back for it. The last week before returning to college, I did ride the bank around an outfield fence to see if I could do it...sulky was close to 45 degrees off line with the down hill sulky tire dragging sideways and that machine just kept chugging along.

Nothing gets your am attention like starting your Gravely!
