Cub Cadet GT2542
I want to thank all of you who helped me with my decision to buy the GT2542. I know I asked a lot of questions, but I wanted to make sure that I was making the right decision.
The tractor is awesome. Just as promised, it's smooth and quiet, starts very easy and mows my grass as well as my push mower. It's incredible.
As for all of you who have LT's...My father bought a LT1554, and loves his tractor. Before I bought my tractor, I went out to his house and mowed his yard to try it. It runs and mows very well. There are some slight differences between the tractors. The 2542 feels stiffer, and the transmission sounds a little different. But overall, both tractors are awesome.
It's the best Father's Day/Birthday/Christmas gift I have ever had!!
I even waxed it yesterday. I've enclosed a picture of it waxed. I want to take very good care of it.

Very nice tractor. I tried to trade my BX1500 on a CC1554 this year. The CC dealers I talked to were not interested in taking the BX on a trade. My Kubota dealer showed me the Toro lineup and I noticed a lot of similarities between CC and Toro lower end products. My GT2300 is pretty much identical to a CC GT1554. I really wanted a CC. They are really nice machines but sometimes you just have to be financially prudent.

If CC made a red tractor it might look like this.

Congrats on the new 2542 gjjbmoore, it looks sharp! Keep us updated on your impressions of how it works and how it holds up. MTD makes some of the models in the Toro lineup for Toro that are based on the Cub Cadet machines, hence the similarities. The Toros remind me of the old CC 82 series like I have that were painted in International Harvester red.

Where'd you go Joel....I'm disappointed I haven't heard from you?
I mowed my grass last night, and cut my push-mowing time in half. That really helps with baseball playoffs, and camping. Plus, the 42" deck really cuts smooth. I'm very happy with my tractor.
My only problem so far, is that the neighbors are asking all kinds of qiestions, and I think that they're jealous... As they should be...just kidding.
I have to add that I'm mulching also, and getting great results. I'll hopefully never need a bagger. The fast blades just pulverize the grass. From what I've read, it's better for your grass anyway. :)
