Hi All,
New guy to the forum, but not new to tractors.
I did just buy a new to me IH 464 gasser with IH1850 loader. The old gal runs great, but she can use a little refurbishing. She's gonna get used for some landscaping and fence building, then spend the winter in the shop getting a little love. I'll post pics when I can.
I'm in the process of upgrading from several Sears GTs, but grew up on and around farm equipment. When I was 12 or 13 I got tired of my dad making us rake the hay by hand and dug the old WD Alice out and got her running. Then went back into the pile for the side delivery rake and got that working too. Been turning wrenches in some fashion ever since, and I look forward to learning what I can about the new tractor.
This one is going to be named Lowell, in honor of my wife's Grandpa. He was a great guy, and before he passed he was rebuilding an old IH M. Never got it all the way finished, and that one finally got sold at auction this last spring. He used to love showing me all the stuff he was working on, and he could run the old lathe they have like no other.
Anyway, Lowell is gonna be used but well loved.
