Inherited this tractor from my father in law, just added the loader this week, I am going to need some help figuring out how to get the hydraulics figured out... any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

:welcome: from Seabeck, WA... looks like in great shape and a little restoration will make it look new! Where abouts are you?

Lot's of good guys here that know hydraulics here. I do suggest you post your pic and detailed questions in the Hydraulics forum here. There is more than a hundred viewing this sub-forum right now!

Welcome from Port Orchard. Looks like nice old JD. Tires look new also. That is one hefty loader. Did you install yourself? Always a lot of good ideas from us that enjoy wrench turning so you are in good company. Try to find a shop manual for your JD. They are worth their weight in gold to us wrench turners. Add your location as different parts of the state generate different responses due to the mountain range.

Good morning Chort0 and welcome to TBN from the "dry" side. Where abouts are you in WA?

Yes, I picked that loader up from a walnut farmer in Chilliwack BC. I just got it installed last weekend. I already have the service manual for my 820 but I don’t know much at all about hydraulics and the manual doesn’t go into details on that. I just posted in the hydraulic forum on TBN I’m hoping for some help there.

On the loader you should have 3 pipes. The designations vary a little but there should be an IN port which is the primary feed. There should be a TANK port which needs to be connected to the transmission tank. There should be a PYB (Power Beyond or Out) which needs to connect to the 3 point hitch hydraulics. Basically you interrupt the line from the pump to the 3 point. Take pump side to IN and 3 point side to PYB out. Then a 3rd line goes to the tank to expel what you use in your FEL.

THIS IS ASSUMING YOUR FEL HAS THE POWER BEYOND FEATURE for use in an Open Center hydraulic system. Power Beyond is a feature of the hydraulic spool valve and usually just a fitting that redirects out port hydraulic fluid. Likely you have this. What tractor was it previously on?

I am taking it you are up near Bellingham or Lynden area since you got the FEL in BC, Canada? Beautiful area up there.
