Kioti DK45SE HST
Good day all. I am new to the site and would like some help if available. I live in TN and I am interested in buying a new Kioti tractor. I am looking at a DK 35 or a DK 40 both in HST of course due to my knee problem. I farm beef cattle on about 30ac. and will use the tractor to mainly to move 5 round bails, use a 6 bush hog , a 6 box scrape and use in the garden a little. My only real concern is the loader ability of the DK 35. The dealer told me a DK 35 would be plenty for what I will be using it for but I thought I would ask you all what you think? Any help in this matter would be greatly preciated.

See it's your first post, welcome.
You will find lots of info and help here. I have a CK35 HST and it fills my needs well. If I were to upgrade to a larger size I would go with the DK40 or DK45. As you mentioned you can get a loader with more lifting strength on the DK40 or 45.
:) :cool2: :tractor: :)

The DK35 would handle your listed jobs except for maybe being a little on the shy side for round bails. As you noticed, there is a big difference in loader strength. You're going from @1500 to @2600 lbs. You'd definately want the brush hog or some counter weight on the 35 when moving the bails. Also about 1000lbs more in tractor weight with the 40. By the way, what do you estimate a round bail's weight? The 35 is 38 hp and the 40 is 41hp with both being a few hp less at the pto shaft. Either would handle the 6ft brush hog and box.
I'm sure a member here that has moved round bails will give you their advise. Just give them a few days to respond.

Victor is right...for round bales definatly go with the DK40SE Hydro. My FEl can handle a 5x5 bale and I usually have another one hanging off the 3pt bale spear as a counter weight. I really don't think the DK35 could handle that very safely.
My dealer is Dave Greene's in Sneedville I bought both my Kioti's there(up graded from a CK30 to the Dk40SE). The CK30 was just too small for what I was doing...the 40 is more than enough.

Thanks for all the info. I think the DK40SE HST would be my best choice. This way I know I can pick up any bail on my farm and lift it in the barn. How do yall feel about putting fluid in the tires? Will that void any warranty? Also do they sell a roof for the Kioti痴 that mounts on to the ROPS? Great site for info.

Kioti does have a canopy that mounts to the ROPS.
This is the one on my DK 35

The bigger loader will be well worth it. And fill the tires for sure, I don't know of any issues with the warranty if you do that. My dealer recommended it to me when I bought.

Good luck and enjoy!

Loaded rear tires help keep the tractor much more stable when doing loader work.

Load the rear tires for additional traction and stability. You can also change the configuration of the rear wheels to get a wider stance. Have the dealer do this first if you get the tires loaded. These machines are much heavier than other tractors of this size and loaded tires are not for everyone. Loaded tires will require special equipment for service.

Loaded tires are not for loader work and will stress your front axle and tractor if not properly ballast with suitable weight on the 3pt hitch. Unless the ballast is behind the rear tires the weight is transferred to the front axle only. Every tool and implement has its place and loaded tires are not suitable for proper loader ballast. Loaded tires are a great tool when used for the right job see above.

This is a hot topic so read and research the issue for yourself. In the end how you setup your tractor is your decision. I was quick to want my tires loaded until I was educated. The funny thing is the first source that advised against loading the tires. It was a dealer selling a popular liquid ballast. The advise was not against loaded tires just an education to its intended uses.
