Greetings all;

My name is Eric J. Hovan, and I live here in east Central Ohio. I am a retired 21 year Navy Chief Petty Officer and Fleet Diesel Engine Inspector. I currently work for Venture Products here in Orrville, Ohio otherwise affectionately known as Ventrac!!! I am a Field Engineer and the engine specialist. I also am the head Technical Trainer.

Some of my hobbies besides my Ventrac Tractor (kind of like a Harley for me if you will...lol), and Woodworking. I am an active Freemason and am currently serving as Senior Warden of Tuscarawas Lodge #59 in Dover, Ohio. I am married and my wife Janie and i rescue miniature Schnauzers(we have 4) and one Coton De Tulear(who is rotten to the core...lol)

I am the owner of a Model 4500Y, which I acquired late last year, along with several attachments. I live in Northern Maryland, near the Pennsylvania border. My 4500Y got a good workout this Winter. Even on the coldest days, the Kubota diesel engine started right up. I moved a lot of snow with it, and it made my life much easier. Now that it is mowing season, it continues to make my life easier. I look forward to many years of use and enjoyment. You and your fellow workers at Venture Products produce fine equipment which really has a big and positive influence on the lives of us owners. Thank you for what you do.

I'm sure you will enjoy this forum. You will probably be asked many questions with your background.
I've had 2 of the 4231 Gas Liquid cooled units and got one of the last ones produced.
Ventrac is a great machine and I'm sure you know most of the Steiner family. :thumbsup:

I, too, have a 4500Z, my first Ventrac, and it currently pushes a contour mower up and around these WV hills. So a dyed in the wool diesel man selects the top end gas motor. I reckon that tells a book's worth of how you feel about Tier 4 and earlier "tears".

As a boy, our first family dog was a miniature Schnauzer. As I grew to manhood the family enjoyed three others. They were all devoted and brave and biddable toward their people.
