Hello everyone,
My name is Monte Grace, I am signing up on the forum as I am trying to start a new business in the land improvement sector. I will give you a little background on me as I have had a little involvement with heavy equipment and a lot with extremely heavy equipment. I grew up on a ranch/farm in western Nebraska where I began running tractors and haying equipment, I then moved on to work a couple of summers running heavy equipment during college, which then turned full time in 2005. In the construction role I have operated skid steers, backhoes, trackhoes, bulldozers, packers, articulated trucks, scrapers, motor graders, track loaders and wheel loaders. When that slowed down I moved to Wyoming and went to work in a coal mine, that's where I ran the really heavy equipment such as Cat D11's D10's a 5130 excavator and trucks including 773f and 777D, I also ran hitachi excavators from 120-250 ton machines, as well as Cat 16G motor grader. But the biggest was a Bucyrus Erie 2570 walking dragline that weighed about 11 million pounds. I currently work for Martin Marietta in NC where I do a little of everything, while this is a good place to work I am tired of making other people money and have the opportunity to try and start my own business which I would like to be in the land improvement niche market with a compact track loader with a mulching head and various other attachments that will allow me to do everything I can to be successful and provide for my family's future. I have gained a lot just reading but now I'm going to have to start asking questions.
Cheers!
Monte
