60 days away from retirement and ready to head to the country.
I've been lurking in a few other forums and met some real nice folks but this has to be the best for Bota info. Thanks
Moving full time to Northern Minnesota. I have 6 acres, a nice home and a great shop.
Leaving 34 years in the aviation industry and ready to play.
I sail, ski, work wood, play music, and teach emergency rescue techniques.
Have a BX24 with 60" MMM, 60" plow, Bro TeK Thumb, rear skid plate, and brush fork.
I'll be asking some dumb questions come 50/100 hr maintenance time.
Hope I can contribute to the knowledge pool.

Good luck and enjoy your retirement. I pulled the pin a couple years ago but can't yet convince the wife to move to the farm. It's about 70 miles from the city home but she thinks that would take her too far from the grandkids. So we reached an agreement. From March to November I go to the farm on Thursday and come back Monday late, if the weather is good she comes out late Friday and goes home Sunday.

We spend three weeks there in summer and I was able to get 192 days of farm time in last year.

That's my part time buddy Harley, I wanted 2 wheels and got 4 legs .
He decided one day not to come home from a girlfriend's house
So he only shows up when she comes to visit or she needs a sitter.

I retired 4 years ago after working 30 years in underground coal mines. I also have about 6 acres of land. I am located in Central Utah. I just bought my first Kubota (L-3400) just before Thanksgiving. I have 31 hours on it now but would have well over 50 if it hadn't turned so cold the last few weeks. It hasn't snowed in a couple of weeks and has been down to -10 F at night so old snow is freeze dried and the ground is frozen solid and no new snow to move.

I thought retirement would be a time of leisure, but I am busier now than I was when I was working for a paycheck but now I enjoy working long hours since all my efforts go for improving or maintaining my place.

The tractor eliminates lots of grunt work and makes it possible to plan and perform lots of improvements without having to hire contractors.
