Hi everyone. I really enjoy this site, and am posting my first question. Here's the deal.....I can get a 2001 NH TC21D 4WD with 60" belly mower 164 hrs. for $9000. It has turf tires, but because I would like to add FEL, I'll probably go ahead & purchase industrials. That said, with the additions the price is getting up there. I also found a dealer that has a new Kioti CK20 4WD with industrials, FEL - but no mower for $12,500. Now this may sound ridiculous, because we are talking about tractors here, but I really prefer the "Look" of the blue as oppposed to the orange paint. Also, I will probably finance this tractor, so buying new does have advantages. I have almost (2) acres that I mow. I plan on digging a small pond, and putting the FEL to occasional use around the property. What would you guys do? Does the TC21 have enough power? I know they don't make this model any longer - were their any problems with this model?
Sorry for the long post, and any advice greatly appreciated!!

The price your paying for the TC21D will vary alot by the area you live in. So go back and fill in your profile so the guys in your area can help you with the price. I had a TC21D and loved it. I eventually traded it in for a TC29D. The price even though I don't know your area seems pretty good. Kioti is a tractor I don't know much about but from what I read here it is a good tractor. KiotiJohn will chime in here I am sure. Others that have had them will also. There is no dealer around here for them so I can't even say I have ever seen one. But I am with you on that orange paint versus the blue and that may be a good enough reason to go blue since most guys here treat tractors as good as or even better than their wifes /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Look at the financing options and test drive both of them. Which one do you like the best and which dealer do you think will give you the best support after the sale. Then just buy it and start having fun.

not sure what i would do here, guess it all comes down to the numbers. the NH by the time u add the FEL and switch to R4's will probably cost around $12,000 and u have a 4 year old tractor. The kioti on the other hand is new, with fel and R4's but minus the MMM.Because you seem to like th NH have you priced out a new NH with the options you want.

Hello,

I have R3 (Turf) tires on my JD4110 and I have used the FEL quite a bit to move dirt and with the 4WD option I have never run out of traction to the point where I couldn't get the job done. So you may want to try the turf on the TC21 for a while and later add R4s if you find that the traction is not good.

Ok, I'll say it...get the NEW TRACTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Much funner, no worries, warranty, financing. No brainer imo. BTW, blue is nice but a slice of orange is always refreshing. KIOTI, KIOTI, KIOTI!!!!!!!!!!

I have to ask if you really need the Mid Mount Mower, or could you use a rear finish mower. If you really need the MMM, go with the NH because I don't think the Kioit MMM is all that good yet. The side discharge mower blows too much out the front, clogging the radiator, and the rear discharge has too small a pulley for belts that causes premature wear. I personally wouldn't have one.
A good rear finish mower is much easier to use anyway, easier to get on an off, just have to be more careful where you're going when turning.
Loaders run between about $1500 and $3000 to fit the NH.
A CK20 HST with loader runs somewhere around $12,500-13,500 with industrial tires. Two year parts and labor warranty, third year parts only. 0% or low percent financing is still available on the Kioties.
Regardless of what you buy, I'd check out the new NHs and other brands because buying used, no warranty and paying nearly as much just doesn't make sense to me. John

Thanks to all, and it's all good advice! I just can't seem to make up my mind. I haven't ruled out the JD's either! Man - I hate being in a state of indecision, but realize that it's just part of the fun, and Thankful that I can even complain about it! I guess I'll try and wait for the right deal to jump out at me, and all at once be happy with my decision, and the patience it took to get me there. Just the same - all input is still appreciated! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I looked for 1 year before buying my CK20HST. You'll get there. Just enjoy the search because it's really part of the enjoyment of tractoring. John
