I have read a few threads on this topic, but have not found my answer.
I am having problems starting my 1996 New Holland 1530 Tractor in cold weather. When I go to start it, everything lights up normally but it will not turn over. I have to get off the tractor, locate the neutral-safety-switch, manually press the little white roller under the left fender near the shift levers up and down several times, climb back into the cab, move the transmission gear lever from side to side as well as from neutral into a gear and back again to get the tractor started. I sometimes have to go through these actions several times before it starts. I m not sure which action actually gets the tractor started, but it eventually starts.
This does not happen when the weather is warm, ie. Spring, Summer or Fall, but starts to happen as the temperatures get colder. This has been going on for several years now. I finally decided that I want to fix the problem. Any help would be appreciated.
