Check out this thread, my post #6 shows links to my photobucket. Two different videos testing a bad pump and a good pump on our Frankenstein pump test machine. More than likely Your tractor with the herky jerky’s would show up as a fluctuating needle on the bottom needle. The test would tell you if you need to look for your trouble before the flow meter (pump, suction lines, screens etc) or if everything checks out smooth and up to pressure then look for your trouble upstream (relief valves, control valves etc)

Thank you wdchyd! I am just now seeing your last post. I had bought another pump for a decent deal in case it was the problem so I ended up changing it out yesterday. I probably should have figured out if that was the problem first but I was getting impatient with everything else I had tried. Changed all the filters & changed the oil too. Since I also replaced the fuel filter(it was nasty) I need to bleed the air out so I can start it again and see if I changed out a perfectly good pump haha. Thank you for the videos. Makes more sense in my head now. I will report back and let you know if its fixed or not!

I had the same loader on a NH 1925.

When you finally do get it fixed, be REAL careful using that loader....it's a really lightweight, crappy design.

Those two horizontal pins on the front transfer a lot of stress downward to the frame.....I broke the frame (yeah...1/2" thick steel) on mine once, and then broke the bell housing lifting something out of a hole.

Ok so I'm back.......loader worked fine up until a few weeks ago. The loader started whining again. It still works albeit a little slower. If I push the clutch in and use the loader it doesnt whine...?? It is a hydrostat tractor. Any ideas? I dont use it everyday. Sometimes it has sat for a few weeks at a time without being used. Could that have contributed to the issue? Anyone have an idea what is wrong or what I could check? Thank you!

What fluid did you change it to? Cold temps can make some whine sound until warm up. Using a synthetic fluid usually makes a hydrostatic transmission tractor quieter. Amsoil makes a very good synthetic fluid, but it is a bit expensive. Kubota also has a synthetic transmission fluid, as well as Chevron. The Tractor Supply fluid is more viscous if that is what you used.
