In process of changing clutch-pressure plate. Found new pressure plate and clutch on EBay.
Like to ask some of you mechanics if you replace pilot bearing and throwout bearing if they are still good? The original is Koyo made in Japan. I'm worried about putting in Chinese replacement bearing. New Koyo CT1310 bearing is almost $100.00 at O'Reilly's. Tractor is a 96 model so has some years on it. The Chinese aftermarket bearings are easy to find around here. Any thoughts on the subject?

I would not do a clutch without changing both bearings. New Holland’s pilot and release bearings are of good quality. I’ve been a dealership employee for over 20 years and never had an early bearing failure. You can buy both for less than $100 and they are probably on the shelf at your local dealer.

Thanks for the advice. I'll check at dealerships tomorrow. Do New Holland dealers sell Chinese bearings also? Clutch rebuild place in Bham do as well a small tractor places here.

Dealer in Huntsville had both bearings and pressed on new clutch release bearing for 36.00. It was also a Japanese bearing like factory one.
On another note got clutch- pressure plate in and aligned with lineup shaft. Neighbor and I worked all evening trying to get tractor halves back together. We tried everything.
I think the transmission shaft may be dropped down a little and hitting pilot bearing. Bolts will line up with holes but halves lack about .375 going together. We gave up and will try again Monday.

Seems it always happens like that. Walk away and try it again and usually it pops right in. I've had to turn the engine or pto a little most times. Good luck.

We pulled tractor back apart and loosened pressure plate and realigned the clutch. We weren't far enough into pilot bearing. Those plastic lineup shafts really fit tight. You may think your in far enough when you aren't. Anyway got it back together. My first tractor clutch. Hope the next one I have to do is easier.
