My 1997 4630 (55 hp turbo diesel) has developed an issue. While pulling a 7 foot finishing mower (Woods PRD8400) it started having a hard time maintaining RPMs while climbing a hill. I fed it more throttle only to have it bog down to 1,000 RPM. Let up the throttle and back came the RPMs but it won't go past 1,600. It has 860 hours on the clock.
The air cleaner restriction warning light comes on after about 20 minutes of operation. I have replaced the air cleaner element with a new one and even removed the inner element thinking that it was clogged but the light remains on. I'm starting to think that maybe my turbo went. Any thoughts from the members here?
