Hi all. I have a friend with a 575 baler. Baled hay and clover this year worked just fine. Started baling Ry grass straw and it is packing too tight, can hardly push out the bales. Backed off hydraulic cylinder and side plates, bales real tight and about 65lbs. Cleaned out chamber and can see no problem any suggestions welcome. By the way over ride clutch hot and braking shear bolts. thanks

No buildup in the bottom corners of the chamber? How many pairs of wedges? Where is the hydroformatic gauge running? Side doors should be backed out flush with the chamber, NOT further which can cause hairpinning and more restrictions.

Sounds to me that ryegrass is too high of moisture %. What is moisture % of ryegrass when baled? Can you get a small hand full(10-20 stems) & twist stems into in just a few revolutions?

It is was super dry, cut 3 weeks ago and raked about one week ago, it brakes when twisted. Had no problem last year same field. He removed wedges yesterday so will try tomorrow. We had light rain yesterday morning then sun.
