New Holland 7308 loader problem

   / New Holland 7308 loader problem #21
Just a wild guess........one of those cylinders wasn’t done properly (piston seal bypassing or scored barrel)
Definitely test out by process of elimination.
Possibly could be a bad spool on control valve and above comments about changing hoses to a known working spool will tell you.
Definitely not a relief valve problem, the job of that is to keep unwanted higher pressure from entering the valve core bypassing to the reservoir return line. Theoretically you could lift a load, shut the tractor off, and remove the relief valve guts and it would still hold the load (assuming you don’t move the spool)........but please don’t do that, just saying:2cents:

Yea, pretty simple to isolate the problem.

1min to uncurl empty is certainly excessive IMO.

Just unhook the two QD's. In a minutes time you will know weather the bucket is uncurled or not. If it isnt....the issue is the valve. If it is uncurled, someone didnt rebuild a cylinder correctly or overlooked some scoring.

No gauges. It dont get much simpler to diagnose

The boom never drops but is excessively jerky to let down it goes down so fast when i pull the handle and the bucket stays curled with lines unplugged. What can possably go bad with valve? There is nothing but 2 spools with relief valve on each one.:confused2:

Its unlikely that each spool has a relief.

And it has been said SEVERAL TIMES NOW, that a valve can be out of spec or have some scoring on the spool or body. Or simply not returning to the neutral position. I know its expensive. I know you are still in denial. But you have PROVED it isnt the cylinders.

I'm having the same issue that you had years ago on my TC30 with a 7308 FEL. My bucket will completely dump with no load in 5-10 mins.

I still need to TS by disconnecting the hose(s) to the curl cylinders. If it's not the cylinders, then it's the high dollar controller valve? No way to rebuild a controller valve?

Correct! I am a novice so please go easy on me... Thank you!
