New Holland 8010 - Fuel pump is starting up by itself when key is turned off/removed

I have kind of a strange problem. Installed a new ignition switch on a New Holland 8010 low profile tractor.
Key was still in ignition but was turned off. Left for a while and came back and heard the fuel pump
running. Turned the key off and it turned it off then the fuel pump came back on again. Removed key from ignition.
Fuel pump went off then 2 minutes later fuel pump came back on again and I had the key in my hand this time.

What do suppose the problem is?

Well I did not change it, thats why I am asking. I just changed the transmission so the tractor
has not been used in a while. My mechanic said it needed to be replaced. But after I explained
what was going on he said it had to be the new switch that was causing it as he has heard of these
New Holland Switches having similar issues.

My mechanic said it was the new switch and that it was faulty. we did order it from the local New Holland
dealer and we got after them after we found out that the fuel pump was coming on by itself without a key
in the ignition. I don't pretend to be a farm mechanic but this sounds like a real strange deal. The only way
I could stop the fuel pump from coming on by itself was to unhook the battery cable to the battery so it could not
come on all by itself but I have seen a tractor does this before so I am asking what some other New Holland owners
may have had the same issue and what they did about it.
