So LS has their new "in-house" LS 3 cylinder engine now in the XR31 and XR41 series tractors which replaced the Shibaura 844 in the previous XR4040/4046 tractors (ie. Boomer 41 and 47, Case 40C and 50C). Curious to know if the LS engine will be standard in the future CNH tractors, or if the Shibaura power plant will continue to be used. I can see the case to keep Shibaura, since it's essentially the same engine used in the previous CNH compacts and some New Holland skid steers = lower parts and service investment. Has anyone heard about this, or if LS will continue to supply compacts to CNH for the foreseeable future?
