Is anybody running a RB450U ??? We have a 2013 model. We have a problem with chaff buildup around the knife that cuts twine making it not cut everytime. Anybody else deal with that?

I don't have one. I have a JD but when my cut knife gets dull, it will not immediately cut the twine, it starts cutting but takes a foot (guess) of twine before it gets the job done. Result is this ball of fuzz on the end of the twine for when I start the next bale.

Based on what I said, is your cutter sharp?

I run a BR 7060 The check your cutter blade making sure it is closing correctly . it has adjustment slots and they do not have to be razor sharp because it basically pinches the twine. Too much chaff is typicality a result of too dry of hay and not much you can do about it . when I used to help previous owner of this baler do hay he was allways complaining of chaff buildup on twine arms and not getting the string all the way to the center . kept buying new springs for the arms. After the first cutting 2 years ago I figured out it was not the arms causing the problem but chaff around the trip mechanism under right side doors. now I just stop after about 40 bales and clean this area good along with the twine arms and string cutter . It is 5 to 10 min of well spent time when little things can aggravate you .

Cutter is sharp. Cuts it sometimes. Other times not. Sometimes u bale a lot and it won't do it. Other times it's the very next bale after u clean it. And the knife is sharp. Really need to go over it some more before we start hay next month
