I didn't know what Deluxe meant either when I first started looking at NH tractors. Their website and catalogs leave a lot to be desired for information.
Deluxe means HST trans, 5 position swivel seat, adjustable 3 point hitch, power point, side consoles, rubber floor mat, tool box and a bunch of other doodads. The grille guard is definitely NOT included. I thought that it was too, initially. Mine cost $300 installed a few months back.
The center grille material was added at my suggestion. I had to wait 2 months to get the tractor because of parts supply problems so they added the center mesh as a courtesy. I saw that JD offered a standard and a deluxe grill guard and the difference was the center mesh on the deluxe. NH just has the standard grill guard. If you're anywhere near NH Binghamton, you can ask Matt or Dale about the mesh because they did the job and they probably have some left. I wanted the mesh to try to stop anything from poking through the grill guard bars and taking out the radiator. I think that it is a definite necessity. Dale wanted to even add mesh to the sides to protect the lights but I thought that would interfere with the lighting.
