New Holland Compact F/W drive ring gear bolts

Is anyone else out there having an issue with the ring gear bolts breaking in the front axle. One of my front wheels locked up and when I removed the the left wheel hub assembly I found some metal but the wheel still turned so I went deeper and found that all the bolt heads had broken off and wiped out the ring gear and pinon. There is no reason for these to break unless they were not tight at assembly or were to soft to start with. Anyone else having this same proplem, and is there anyplace to find parts other than the dealer $663.00 for the gear and pinon

Yes, that occurs on the Class II machines like your TC29 and also on the larger Class III tractors. There have been several cases of sheared bolts in the front differential. I can't say how many, but in my 10 years on TBN, I've seen 4 to 6 reports of this exact problem. I'm sure you could use the search function to find those, but it probably won't make you feel any better except to know that you are not alone with both the expense and frustration. I'm sorry to hear of your problems.

BTW: :welcome: to TBN and the New Holland Forums. I hate that your first post relates to a problem, but thanks for letting us know about it. I hope you will continue to read, post, and participate here. The body of info from all our members is tremendous. We're not a bad group just to "jaw" with either.

Thanks, I was afraid of that, I bet those babies don't come out without a fight after I'm finished with them. Loctite will do wonders for the little buggers. I'don't mind the repairs as mush as their parts pricing,:confused2: ring gear and pinon, ( $663.00 (SBA322050741 old number SBA322050740 )and the center section housing is only $163.00 go figure that one out. I bet there one out there that will interchange but who has the time to look. If anyone has one laying around let me know.
