I have a 45A tractor and the fuel cap keeps rusting excessively on the inside. I bought a new one and it did the same thing within 4-6 months. I don't fill it up completely every time it is used but probably every two weeks. I use clean diesel. Anyone else have this problem or suggestions on a better fuel cap? Thanks and Happy Holidays.

I would recommend keeping the fuel tank full of fuel so as to reduce the chances of moisture collecting. I ould also be inclined to dose with a biocide to prevent bacteria growing in the fuel due to moisture - you seem to have accumulated some in the tank. Where about are you - down south in a humid area.

I do indeed live in the south. Thing is I have never had this problem on any other tractor over the last 20+ years. I will buy another New Holland cap just don't understand the rusting. I put in a biocide last year. Try to keep the tank full but not always easy to do. Thanks for the feedback.
