Cool video The real innovation would be to put water in the fuel tank and have it to do the conversion to Oxygen and Hydrogen ,although one tank full of water does not have enough energy content. That'll be the day when we master the technology.

The technology has been around for a long time. What many people do not realize is that this is not some fantastical new energy source. It is a different way to store energy. A different type of battery if you will.

Water has to be split into it's components which requires a significant energy input so you are still going to be using some other source of energy first. Just like charging and
electric car requires plugging it in and using coal/ nuclear/ fossil fuel fired electric plants.

Fuel cells change the location of energy use from the farm ( using diesel) to the fuel company. It does potentially allow us to use something other than fossil fuel to power vehicles, as does biodiesel, electric, and alcohol. Unfortunately, fossil fuels have the highest energy density, so as we get away from them we will be losing storage efficiency.

Nevertheless, it's great to see a major player working on alternative power plants
