Hi, guys. I just bought a 98 NH 1725 that had been sitting in a man's yard for years. It only has 500 hrs on it so I'm thinking most of it's problems is becouse of that. More post to follow LOL. Right now I'm dealing with the fuel. It will not run though the fuel strainer yet if I hook it up straight from the tank to the injection pump it will runs (fine). I put a new plastic bulb, O ring and there's plenty of fuel that come out of the outlet side, still it will not run. I thought maybe its getting air though the strainer assembly but I see no leaks. What is the hose for that come out of the top of the of that assembly for, could that be the problem ? Any thoughts on this.

not sure until you follow it to where it goes, but I'd bet it's an excess fuel return hose

Replace the pre-filter and main fuel filter. Check for and treat the fuel tank for mold / microbial contamination. You'll be amazed.

If it has a banjo fitting check inside that for a restriction. Rust and sludge will accumulate in banjo fittings and clog them up. After replacing the main fuel filter and cleaning the system I highly recommend putting a small engine filter inline between the tank and it's first connection. That is a good fail safe to keep stuff from getting too far. I have a MicroGard #33002 5/16" inline filter on both my tractors.

Thanks Guys. I still can't get it to run through the strainer bulb. It runs great hooked up straight so it's got to be that strainer bulb. It acts like it's getting air and its got a new bulb and O ring. The hose that come out of the top of the assembly goes up to the top of the tank. Owell I'll just get a new strainer bulb assembly or put a inline filer in it.
Thanks
