A little about myself, I own a 2009 TC34DA a 2008 John Deere 3720 and a 2010 Tackuchi TL 220. I just received the 2011 new Holland magazine. And 1 article just screams BULL**IT. The article reads that a man in Texas built a pond measuring 450ftx180ftx16ft high with a get this, TC40 DA. I know for a fact that in Texas, the dirt is like clay. The loader arms could and would NOT take the abuse of their soil. This guy is on some type of drugs to think that It could be done with a tractor of that size. ****, even with my equipment I could honestly say that it is almost impossible to do.
Wow what a bunch of propaganda. If you are reading this New Holland, Shame on you for publishing this BS.
And another thing New Holland, THIS WILL BE MY LAST NH I WILL BUY SINCE YOU DECIED TO GO TO BED WITH LS TRACTORS. YOU HAD A GOOD THING GOING, BUT GREED SET IN.
FYI i've owned fords and newhollands for over 20 years. Little to no problems. Now that u decied to outsorce your boomer tractors, Im going green.

The guy said he used his NH tractor because he did not have the money to rent a bulldozer. So he took a brand new tractor and literally wore it out. Does not make sense. Said he took 6000 trips in and out of the pond.

That tractor has to be as loose as Paris Hilton after an all night party with 15 male friends

first off, i know the dealer and the tractor came from and the guy who did it. True stuff, hard to beleive sure, but not all dirt in Texas is clay. do you want to know how many types of dirt you can find in Texas and the mixtures.
Second, LS is manufacturing the new Boomer for New Holland, but the new Boomers really put the comparable Deere and Kubota to shame. They are at least 1200# pounds heavier, 4 cylinder motors instead of 3, 12x12 shuttle shift transmission are standard, tilt steering, suspension seat, more power, heavier quick attahc loader and bucket, adjustabel and extendable 3 point system, high 3 point lift cap,......i can keep goign if you want. mayeb do a little more research

I fail to see your point..JD are probably the worst for outsourcing ......Overum ploughs, kuhn mowers, flexi coil air seeders,Howard manure spreaders ,zetor and renault tractors ...all sold under the green haze with a galloping goat logo . as do most:)

Everyone thought it was the end of the world when ford got tied up with fiat yet continued to make some of the best tractors they ever made after !

Obviously, rockstar made a bad choice of words when he said CNH has decided to "outsource." He should have said that CNH has decided to change sources for outsourcing and that the LS tractors are not up to snuff compared to the old Boomers. I recently looked at a Boomer 40 sitting in front of my NH dealer and I was just shocked at the difference. My perception was that this was a Boomer in name only. The bottom line to any dealer is how well his product sells. If you build a tractor for less money but only sell 1/2 or 2/3 as many, have you really gained anything? I'll reserve my judgement and wait for a couple of years to see how the product sells, but my impression is that if I had seen the 3040 tractor and then the Boomer 40, I'd probably not want the Boomer 40. If everyone else feels this way (rockstar, for example) then the new LS tractors may be orphaned and sitting out front in a "fire sale" like the Boomer 8Ns.

BTW: I don't expect dealers to agree with me. It's not in your best business interest to say anything except that your new tractors are terrific. Even so, I think you have a "long row to hoe" on this transition and I wish you luck in weathering the storm.:)

EDIT: Oh yes, I forgot to mention the project in my avatar photo. While I was just cleaning up after a dozer had removed silt from my 125' diameter x 12.5 deep pond, I worked my TC45D and my own hiney to the bone while digging on this pond. My loader was stressed to the maximum even with once or twice a day greasings. My bushings took a beating and kinda looked like a gang member's pants: LOOSE. I cannot imagine anyone who thought it was a good idea to buy a new tractor for around $25k and then turn around and wear it out on a project that was far above anything that tractor was ever designed to do. These tractors are terrific for small jobs and tight spaces. Essentially, a person could get the same amount of work done in a week with a dozer and operator for $5k or less. What he did is like buying a Toyota Tacoma pickup to pull a 30' gooseneck trailer loaded with a 14k lb backhoe across the USA, and then brag about his accomplishment. Luckily, we have laws to stop that from happening on our highways. No such laws exist to stop people from doing jobs with tractors that should be done with dozers. You can make a complete idiot of yourself and then publish it in a magazine for everyone to see what a dufus you are.:confused2:;)

I believe the story happened just felt the guy should not have used his brand new tractor to do it from scratch.

I agree with Jinman on the new tractors. I looked at the new Boomer series and they just looked cheaply made.

Did you read the article? I can't tell by your post if you agree or deny the fact that the pit was clay or not clay. Fact is that the author on page 11 of Acres Summer 2011 wrote, "Equipped with a front end loader, the tractor made more than 6,000 runs into some of the toughest clay and sticky gumbo soil in all of Texas."
