I know what you mean... People think it makes a good gift just because it has a tractor on it. They don't understand the difference between the colors! Now what am I supposed to do with a John Deere clock? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

John Deere has been almost TOO aggressive with their licensing... They have licensed their name out for anything and everything. I wouldn't be surprised if there's John Deere toliet paper! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Too late, I found John Deere and New Holland Toilet paper at this site. JD Toy page Look about half way down.

The weirdest thing I have seen was a JD Barbell for Tounge piercings.

I really appreciate all the links for the NH merchandise but I wish NH would license their name for merchandise like Soundguy had stated. I think they would sell more than they realize. I know I would enjoy buying NH knick-knacks. Looking for a stainless license plate for my new pickup truck. I seen one on ebay for months and never bought it. Wouldn't you know it that the time I do want it, it's gone. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Oh well...

You know, a company should never underestimate the importance of placing its name on apparel, etc. From what I understand, doing so is the only thing that saved Harley Davidson from going out of business during the Depression. Also, think about Coke. They did not realize just what they could do with merchandise until they made the mistake of changing their formula. When I was considering the DJ 790, I liked the shirts and hats offered at the dealership. They had some really neat family oriented stuff. Now my NH dealer has quite a collection of cast toys but not a hat or shirt to be seen. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Marketing the apparel stuff is great advertising, no question. Sounds like a business opportunity for the right person if you ask me.

My FIL has several signs saying Ford Tractors Only, stuff like that. Are those things still around?

Pineridge, there is usually stuff at our Wayne County Fair here in Ohio, too. It's a very ag oriented fair, probably the best in the state in that regard. The carnival stuff is just a small part of it. It happens near the beginning of September each year. You might want to check it out this year and get some tractor stuff.
