I would like to know if anyone knows WHO makes New Holland brand Oils? The New Holland
dealer in my area is also a Kubota dealer, He sells ONLY NH Oils, claims that the NH oils are much
better and cheaper.

My Massey dealer sold only GLOCO oil and claimed that it was better than Massey or any of the other oils. Guess they have to justify their dumb decisions not to carry the correct products on something and better is as good as anything else that has no basis in fact. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Tell him you need some Kubota Super UDT and see what he thinks is equivalent to that!

I asked him specifically about SUPER UDT oils, and his response was that they service both
makes of equipment with the NH oils and that they have never had one problem because of
it.

I realize that Kubota probably developed the SUPER UDT oils to remedy a situation where the
regular UDT didn't get the job done, but I have a 1997 L2900/GST tractor and I'm not sure that
the SUPER UDT was even around back in 1997 so I'm unsure what KUBOTA Hyd. oil I should use.

Anyway, I was hopeing that someone would tell me CHEVRON or PENNZOIL or MOBIL made their
oil since then I would have some basis in considering the quality of the product. I happen to also
drive a Ford Diesel truck, which takes 15 quarts of oil for a change. This dealer currently has a SALE on
his 15w-40 oil, that works out to $1.25 a quart. It is rated cg-4 / SJ and if nothing else, at that price I
could pick up a couple of pale's and save some money. I've been running CHEVRON's oil and would like
to stay with it because it has worked very well.

I'm glad he is your dealer and not mine, but there are many more like him. They fly by the seat of their pants and make up their specs as they have a need to. Thank goodness that they don't let them design tractors, or anything else.

The only thing that I would substitute for Super UDT is a full synthetic like AMSOIL AT-4. Your dealer is right, that only most normal circumstances any name brand UDT universal tractor fluid suitable for use with wet disk brakes works just fine. Us in warm climates have a lot less severe cold weather that can cause harm during the first few minutes of operation where synthetics really shine.

If you use the search (and can wade through the results) the manufacturer for Kubota products is listed. Valvoline seems to make all of the multiweight oils and UDT and Super UDT. I think Kubota made a good choice as Valvoline products seem to be one of the best. My tractor holds a lot of oil, but the difference in price even with synthetics is pretty insignificant on an annual basis. I choose to only use the manufacturer's oil and fluids until I switch over to synthetics.
