I've found a lot of great info on this site.

I'm helping my dad diagnose his tc40d and I think we have found the problem. He is getting hydro fluid into his engine and it seems that he is suffering from the common problem of the seals being blown out in his pump.

I have searched and haven't found a complete tutorial on how to remove and break down the pump. He is worried that he will wont be able to get the pump off correctly or he will get in there and "a bunch of little pieces will fall out" .

Does anyone know of a link to a good tutorial with pictures if possible.

Thanks Rick. You saved me a bunch of time!

I realize that I'm a new member and created an account here to get help with this specific problem for my elderly father who doesn't know his way around the Internet.

That being said, I would appreciate any advice on how to complete this project as cheaply as possible. My father does not have any disposable income and his only source of income at all is his hay, which he cannot bale right now.

If no tutorials are available any pointers from someone who has had this problem would be appreciated also.

You won't find a lot of details even in the Repair Manual. Here is a link to my thread where I removed my pump. There's more details in this thread and photos than you will find in the repair manual. If you cannot complete the R&R with the info provided, perhaps you need to bite the bullet and take it to a dealer or other good mechanic.
