Hi folks- I posted this in attachments too. Looking for input/experience on a NH 74 csr snow thrower. There's one available near me, little or no use, for $3000. Fair price? Manual rotator, hyd. chute.

Plan to operate it with Kubota L3430GST, 28hp pto. Enough hp?

Will my backhoe hyd. circuit work to operate the hyd. chute?

Are these good snowthrowers?

Will be on the low side, My 24 PTO-hp tractor can run a 60" in light snow without noticing it, but struggles with the heavy stuff. With a gear drive transmission, if you only get light snow, it might be able to handle it

No, a backhoe hydraulic circuit is continuous loop. I believe you would have to add a valve in between the two, but I'm not sure. Someone with more hydraulics experience could help here.
Do you have any other remotes on the tractor?

Are these good snowthrowers?

From what I can see from pictures they look to be pretty heavy built. Also, from what I've read on this forum, people haven't had major issues with them.

It's a rear mount cat 1 three point, so no subframe. I have no other remotes, just loader and backhoe circuits. I may need to rig up a controller valve or whatever.

Im concerned about the power issue. I wonder what the manufacturer says. Cant get the manual free on line, have to pay to get it.

The tractor is 72" wide so I need to clear that width. Maybe a 6 foot wide tractor with 35/28hp just isnt enough to power a snowthrower that wide. I suppose I could just go slow in deeper snow.

Right, my bad. Based on Tractorhouse, $3000 seems to be about its market value from what I can tell. Similar ones with hyd chute rotation were listed in the same price range.
As far as the hydraulics go, an open center valve plumbed should do what you need.

Yeah some manufacturers can be annoying that way.

Farm king rates their 74" at 40 hp min. After seeing how many reverse gears your tractor has, I think it could handle the snowblower without too big a problem. In heavy and thick snow you might need to take smaller, or as you said slower, passes, but other than that, with the gear spacing that your tractor has, I think you should be good.

Yeah, I've read other posts where they say its as much about speed as horsepower. An auger can only move so much snow in a given time. This thrower will not be used much, it's for the rare times we get too much snow to blade. So I can go slow. Not going to upgrade to a 50hp tractor.
