New Holland TC-18 Fuel Tank question

Trying to clean out the diesel ful tank (5.5 gal) - Using a long bottle brush on stiff wire - Noticed something rattle around near bottom of tank towards steerring wheel...can't see it with a mirrow. Is there supposed to be something in this plastic tank? Likke an internal filter or ??? rcadille@rochester.rr.com

Fuel gage float, maybe. Also, could be hose sticking down from filler overflow capture flange.
